12,000 fighters in west coast of Yemen to retake Taiz and Hudaydah

Popular Resistence fighters will join the Yemen National Army in retaking Taiz city.

:: The Popular Resistance Forces in Yemen have recaptured key areas around the strategic Khalid Ibn al-Walid base near the western coast of the country.

Field Commander Abdul Rahman al-Mahrami, commander of west coast front, said that the resistance forces will now be moving in two directions in their next stage of battle.

One group is directed toward Taiz city in support of the Yemen National Army, while the second is directed towards Hudaydah, which has been under the control of Houthi militias and forces loyal to Ali Abdullah Saleh.

Commander al-Mahrami said that the strength of the resistance forces and the national army are 12,000 fighters.

He added that ongoing battles with Houthi militias are concentrated north of Yakhtal district, which is about 25 km from Mokha province as well as eastward towards the Moze and Jisr al-Hamli districts.

The commander said that the Houthi and Saleh militias are adamant to control the coastal areas. The west coast area is considered to be one of the main arteries to deliver military reinforcements.
