The family members of those who died in the terror acts perpetrated by the 47 rebels who were executed in the Kingdom on Saturday expressed their relief over the punishment given to the criminals.

The much-awaited executions were carried out in cities such as Riyadh, Makkah, Madinah, Eastern Region, Qassim, Hail, Northern Borders Region, Asir, Jouf, Najran, Baha and Tabuk. The executed men were convicted of embracing takfiri (deviant) ideology, attacking sites of security and military agencies and damaging the Kingdom’s economy.

A number of martyrs’ relatives said the implementation of sentences against the 47 criminals has cooled down their hearts because the terrorists got the deserved sentences for killing the innocent and terrorizing the civilian population .

Fahad Al-Anzi, brother of Muhammed who died in a gunbattle, said Saturday’s execution had delivered a clear message that terrorism will not be tolerated in the country and all those who engage in such nefarious activities will meet the deserved punishment.

“Implementation of such a punishment will also help the country maintain peace, security and safety for the people,” he said, adding that it had made clear to the people where to draw the line.

In Makkah, brother of Cpl. Ahmed bin Hamid Al-Khuzai, who was martyred in April 2005, said the implementation of the rulings upheld justice and fair play in the country. “As relatives of the martyrs, it was our prime wish to see Allah’s Shariah implemented on the terrorists because it was a victory for us and our dear ones have been avenged,” he said.

In the same vein, Ali, the son of Pvt. (First Class) Hamad Al-Sharif, who was also martyred in the same confrontation, said expressions of thanks cannot properly express their feelings to the leaders of the country as the sentences implemented on the terrorists send comfort and tranquility in the hearts of the martyrs’ families.

The sentences carry a clear message that the homeland has drawn a red line for rebels and the government will not hesitate to implement Shariah rulings on whoever tampers with the security and safety of the country, he said.

The wife of Pvt. (First Class) Fahad bin Abdullah Waznah, who was martyred in June 2003 in Makkah, said she and her children received the great news of the implementation of the sentences with paramount pleasure which, she said, cannot be described.

She said she was proud of having her husband martyred in the defense of religion and homeland. She advised youths to keep away from suspicious ideas and practices adding that everyone feels secured to live in the country with peace and prosperity.
