Saudi King Salman to inaugurate seventh Shura Council session

Shura Council Chairman Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed al-Sheikh said the council was looking forward to the king’s much-anticipated speech.


:: Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz will inaugurate on Monday the third year of the seventh session of the Shura Council where he will deliver a speech that addresses Saudi Arabia’s internal and domestic policies.

Shura Council Chairman Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed al-Sheikh said the council was looking forward to the king’s much-anticipated speech, which acts as an annual guideline for the deliberations of the council.

Sheikh said Saudi Arabia has become an example to be followed in achieving comprehensive development via Vision 2030 and the ambitious plans it includes to improve citizen participation and contribution to growth.

Shura Deputy President Abdullah Al-Moatani said the Kingdom was witnessing activity on different developmental levels, including on the cultural and social fronts as Vision 2030 aims to provide citizens with a better livelihood.

Moatani added that the Shura Council seeks to fulfill the command’s aspirations as the council and its 14 committees work diligently to support the economic, political, social and cultural drives in the Kingdom.
