The Abdul Salam bin Saleh Al-Rajhi Foundation has announced it will continue to support non-Saudi patients undergoing dialysis due to renal problems.

Saleh Al-Rajhi, the foundation’s secretary-general, said that the “program is in accordance with the principles of solidarity and brotherhood of faith in compliance with the words of the Prophet (peace be upon him).”

He explained that the program aims to support non-Saudis suffering from renal failure in various cities in the Kingdom by providing financial support for dialysis sessions. “The Abdul Salam bin Saleh Al-Rajhi Foundation supports kidney patients for a full year at a total cost of approximately SR2.5 million,” he said. He added that renal patients have received more than 8,000 hours of dialysis through the foundation in coordination with various individuals and medical centers across the Kingdom.

Al-Rajhi said that many renal patients who have benefited from the program have expressed their thanks and appreciation for the foundation.

He added that based on the foundation’s findings, the number of kidney patients in the Kingdom with renal failure has been increasing at an annual rate of 7 percent.

He said the foundation will continue to provide various kinds of assistance to the community in accordance with the needs of the beneficiary.

“The reason behind this is to strengthen the principles of social solidarity among Muslims and to provide the best treatment of patients to alleviate their sufferings,” he said.

He also commended the important role played by charitable institutions in promoting the health sector in support of national efforts in this regard.
