National players in the mining and mineral sectors and major foreign companies attending the “Saudi Mining and Minerals 2015” are happy to be part of the first international conference and exhibition on mining and minerals in the Kingdom.

The major participants at the three-day conference and exhibition include Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Maaden), Saudi Geological Survey (SGS) and Industrial Clusters as strategic event partners, Atheeb, Outotec, Saudi Specialty Chemical Indiana Co. Ltd. (SSCI) and Saudi British Bank (SAAB) as strategic partners and ThyssenKrupp industrial solutions as the technology partner. There are also many other international participants.

These companies have put up their stalls with technical know-how experts explaining their portfolios, products and services.

Notably, Al-Naimi after opening the exhibition also took round of the stalls by national and international players showcasing their expertise and exchanged views on the participation and mining and minerals.

He was also explained the details of the display by participating companies.

Expressing overwhelming happiness to be the part of the debut conference and exhibition, Waleed Al-Shaikh, Maaden;s director for corporate communication, said: “We are happy to be strategic partner for the international event which features symposium, brainstorming sessions and an exhibition.”

“Being a leading company in this sector in the Kingdom, we are here to lead by example as a true leader in this sector and put up a stall with details of our diverse progress, portfolio of mineral assets at various stages of development including exploration, development and production,” he added.

Hassan M Al-Marzouki, director general of planning and development, SGS, which has main portfolio of mineral exploration and geological mapping, also expressed delight to be part of the show.

“We are glad to see international players at the forum and exhibition with their products and expertise here. It will help being an interactive forum with exchange of ideas.”

Sajeesh Kumar, a representative from Thejo Hatcon Industrial Service Company participating in the exhibition representing multinational giant Bridgestone, said: “It is a good experience to be part of this international exhibition on mining and minerals. Significantly, with this massive expo and the scale of opportunities involved, the Kingdom is keen on further developing its mining and mineral sector strategically because it will help not only in diversifying its economy, but also utilize its abundant mineral resources for sustainable development to become a leading global supplier.”
