Eastern Province Gov. Prince Saud bin Naif honored a number of police officers from Qatif for their efforts in unraveling the mystery of the murder of five people who were buried in a farm in Safwa.

The crime was committed five years ago and the bodies were discovered only recently.
Even when the crime trail had gone cold, Qatif police and their criminal investigation team was able to nail the criminals and bring them to justice.

The governor praised the officers for resolving this particular case and other cases.
“The government, led by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah, Crown Prince Salman and Prince Muqrin, is keen on maintaining security,” he said. “The guilty must be brought to court to face justice.”

In a related development, Deputy Gov. Prince Jalawi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaed, received at his office a number of police officers from Qatif and Safwa.

He thanked them for their efforts.

“I ask Allah the All Mighty to help and guide those people who contribute to maintaining the security of this country,” he said.

Qatif Mayor Khaled bin Abdulaziz Al-Sufian and other top officials attended the meetings.

The grisly crime was extensively covered by Arab News in February.
