King Salman congratulates Egypt’s Sisi on his victory in presidential election

King Salman expressed his best wishes in a phone call to the Egyptian president, stressing that this great victory reflects the Egyptian people’s confidence.


:: Saudi King Salman congratulated on Monday the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi who won a second term at the country’s recently held presidential elections.

The Saudi king expressed his best wishes during a phone call with the Egyptian president, stressing that “this great great Egyptian people’s trust came as a result of His Excellency’s distinct efforts in the fields of development and combatting terrorism”, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

King Salman also praised the distinguished relations between the two countries and the two friendly peoples, which all parties seek to support and develop in all fields.

For his part, Sisi expressed his thanks and appreciation to King Salman for “his honorable stance and the Saudi people for their noble feelings towards Egypt and its citizens”.

Bassam Radi, the spokesman of the Egyptian presidency, said that Sisi stressed during the communication the depth and strength of the Saudi-Egyptian ties and their common objectives.

Sisi stressed Egypt’s keenness to continue working with the kingdom to strengthen the strategic partnership and ties between the two countries in the coming period for the benefit of the people of the two countries, as well as the Arab and Islamic nations.
