UAE minister Gargash says Doha’s deeds ‘have returned to haunt it’

UAE’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Gargash said Doha’s deeds “have returned to haunt it.

:: In light of Doha’s decision to withdraw nationalities from a spate of Qatari citizens who have voiced their opposition to the government, the UAE’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Gargash said Doha’s deeds “have returned to haunt it.”

In a Twitter post on Monday, the minister also said that Qatar has tried to play the human rights card as revenge against its neighboring countries – Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain – but it fell through.

“The moral from this is, to put an end to a problem, you must address the causes,” added Gargash.

The minister also said in a previous tweet that Qatar failed at the UN General Assembly in New York last month, despite its “legendary” spending on media, to push an image that Qatar has been treated unjustly.
