Saudi King condoles with Spanish monarch over victims of Barcelona attack

Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz reiterated the kingdom’s ‘unflinching stance’ against terrorism of all forms


:: Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz has sent a cable of condolences to the Spanish Monarch Felipe VI after the recent ramming Attack in Barcelona that left at least 13 people dead.

In his cable, King Salman said: “We have been informed of the terrorist ramming into the public that took place, in Barcelona, resulting in victims and casualties and adding that, as we strongly disapprove such heinous crimes, we express to the monarch and the families of the victims, on behalf of the Saudi people and government and in my own name sincere condolences and faithful consolation, wishing speedy recovery for the injured and reiterating the Kingdom unflinching stance, in rejecting terrorism, in all forms and manifestations and asserting the significance of internationally concerted endeavors to confront and uprooting it”.

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has also sent a similar cable of condolences.

Catalan Police confirmed 13 people were killed and 100 injured after a terrorist ploughed a van into pedestrians in Barcelona on Thursday. Two of the suspects in custody in Barcelona van attack are a Spanish national from Melilla and a Moroccan. The latter was identified as Driss Oukabir Soprano.
