:: Saudi Arabia condemned the terrorist attack that targeted a gathering of dozens of people in the center of Barcelona, Spain, an official source said.

Spain’s royals condemned the attack in Barcelona on Thursday in which a van ploughed through crowds of pedestrians, killing at least 13 people, saying the country would not be “terrorized.”

“They are assassins, criminals who won’t terrorize us. All of Spain is Barcelona,” the royals tweeted in an unusually strongly-worded statement, joining Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy who said “terrorists will never defeat a united people.”

The office of German Chancellor Angela Merkel also condemned the “revolting attack” in Barcelona.

“We are thinking with profound sadness of the victims of the revolting attack in Barcelona with solidarity and friendship alongside the Spanish people,” tweeted spokesman Steffen Seibert.

French President Emmanuel Macron voiced solidarity with Spain after the deadly van rampage in Barcelona.

“We remain united and determined,” Macron said on Twitter, describing it as a “tragic attack” and saying his thoughts were with the victims.
