Indian newborn with excess limbs saved from being thrown into river

Newborn with a parasitic twin condition.

:: A newborn baby boy with excess limbs was saved by a local surgeon before his family threw him into a river, the British media reported.

His mother, 22-year-old Kuli Bai, gave birth to him at her home in a small village in Pindwara located in northern India. Kuli’s family were so shocked by his state that they decided abandon him in a river.

Word of the incident spread across the village where it was met with a local surgeon at Matra Chhaya Hospital. The surgeon, 35-year-old Bahrat Pal Danda immediately sent an ambulance to transport the mother and child to the hospital.

The hospital removed the baby’s extra limbs for free. The cause of the medical condition was the growth of a parasitic twin through the newborn.
