Mohammed bin Salman contributes SAR 20 mln to Saudi prisoner release campaign

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has donated a sum of SAR 20 million for prisoner release campaign.


:: Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has donated a sum of 20 million Saudi riyals for a campaign launched to release prisoners during the month of Ramadan.

His donation is roughly equivalent to 20 percent of the total value of SAR 120 million allocated for the campaign. The donation is believed to be the highest contribution to the campaign, which has been distributed across the kingdom.

A total of 1,414 prisoners were released from across the country as a result of this contribution.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman had previously donated SAR 2 million to the National Committee for Welfare of Prisoners, Ex-Inmates and their Families in Jazan Region to support a program for the release of prisoners with financial claims.

He also donated a sum of SAR 11 million for the release of prisoners with pending financial liabilities in Asir, Najran and Southern Border regions. The campaign started on June 13, 2017.
