John Wick 3 looking for places to shoot in Dubai

:: American producer Jeff Waxman and fellow Director Chad Stahelski are exploring various locations in Dubai to film the third part of the action blockbuster series John Wick.

The film crew toured around Al Fahidi area, some of the Emirate’s old souks, Burj Al Arab, Jumeirah, Sheikh Zayed Road, Jumeirah Walkway and other venues nominated by the Dubai TV and Film Commission, posted emaratalyoum.com.

Jamal Al-Sherif, chairman of Dubai Film and TV Commission in his statement to the news portal said: “Through the information provided by the production company, the budget for this sequel, which is shot in New York and Los Angeles, is up to $50 million; $8 million is the cost of filming the scenes expected to be shot in Dubai.”

“We are now presenting the facilities and privileges that can be offered to work, both in terms of filming permits and hotel discounts, flight tickets, assistance in the management of technical staff,” he added.

Al-Sherif revealed that the film, in addition to its financial impact on the tourism sector and production services, has an important promotional value for the film production in the emirate. “John Wick is packed with international stars besides Keanu Reeves, including Riccardo Scamarcio, Laurence Fishburne, John Leguizamo and others,” he said.

The story follows legendary assassin John Wick (Keanu Reeves) who retired from his violent career but found himself dragged back into the mafia world he thought he had escaped.
