The King Salman Center for Humanitarian Relief and Works (KSCHRW) has signed a contract for the construction of 300 housing units for displaced Yemeni refugees in Djibouti.

“The project aims to alleviate the suffering of displaced Yemeni people in Djibouti. The housing units will be airconditioned,” said Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, KSCHRW general supervisor.

He said that construction of the housing units will begin next week by a specialized company with whom the KSCRHW signed a contract.

The contract, he said, is part of the 50 KSCHRW programs for displaced Yemenis under the guidance of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman. Al-Rabeeah said that there will also be education and health facilities, mosques and other items which the displaced Yemeni refugees need.

“The center will provide everything needed by the displaced Yemeni refugees who are suffering, to say the least, and facing challenges of survival,” he said.

KSCHRW is tirelessly working to understand and provide for the basic needs of some 2,000 displaced Yemenis so that they can at least live a dignified life, he added.

For his part, Abdul Raqeeb Fath, chairman of the Supreme Committee of the Yemeni Relief Agency, said that KSCHRAW has done other things for the displaced Yemenis.

“Earlier, the center distributed food baskets to displaced Yemenis in Djibouti and provided desalinated drinking water,” he said.

He said that the center also set up medical clinics and provided the necessary medicines which the refugees need. He thanked the Saudi leadership, headed by King Salman, for its humanitarian concerns and in assisting displaced Yemenis in every possible way.

“We are indeed beyond words in thanking the Saudi leadership for its concern for the Yemeni refugees,” he said.
