Pakistan International School in Riyadh (PISR) held its commendation ceremony recently, under the supervision of Principal Tahir Raza Abid, Vice Principal Naveed Ahmed Tabassum, SBW-I Wing Incharge Gohar Rafiq and SBW-II Wing Incharge Saddatullah Khan.

Pakistan Ambassador Manzoor Ul Haq was the chief guest. “The secret of success in life is hidden in the school motto — I can, I will — and the students should try to translate this motto in all walks of their life.”

The ambassador praised the teachers for producing extraordinary results in their respective subjects.

Haq advised the teachers to teach the students with full commitment. He assured that the embassy will play its part to solve the issues of the school and is already working on them.

“Our prime object is to uplift the standard of education of the school and will take every possible step in this regard,” the ambassador added.

Welfare Attache/Link Officer Syed Hammad Abid and other embassy officials and staff were present. Anass Nazir and Asad Arif were the hosts of the function.

The function started with the recitation from the Qur’an by Qari Noorullah. Elham Fazal presented the Kalam-e-Iqbal.

Principal Tabassum presented the annual academic report. “Ours is an exceptional school, which has been serving the community since 1968. Although this institution has meager resources, it always strives hard to meet the higher standard of education,” he said. “This year, 335 students appeared in the SSC-II exam and 246 of them emerged successful. This is the highest figure over the last nine years.”

At HSSC-II level, 216 students appeared and 156 of them came out with flying colors. “This figure is also higher than the previous year,” he said.

The ambassador and the principal distributed certificates as well as prizes to students who excelled in SSC-II and HSSC-II exams.

The event ended with Anas Raza, Elham Fazal and Noorullah, all students, singing the national anthem.
