Indian Consul General B.S. Mubarak has called for development of talent, skills and volunteerism among students, in addition to education.

“No doubt, education remains key for turning things around, but there is need to focus on talent development, soft skills and volunteerism,” Mubarak said while speaking as the chief guest at the annual event of Telangana United Forum (TUF) on Saturday.

He highlighted the difficulties faced by the needy and had a word of praise for TUF for extending a helping hand to those in need.

The program started with the recitation of the Qur’an by Syed Sayeeduddin, followed by Naat Shareef by Asimuddin Ansar.

Mohammed Abdullah Balubaid, vice dean for development, Jeddah Community College, King Abdulaziz University (KAU), was guest of honor.

Luxman Sockalingam of KAU and Danish Abdul Ghafoor, a business executive, were present. Sockalingam emphasized voluntarism as social responsibility and Ghafoor stressed on talent development for success.

Aftab Ahmed, assistant professor at KAU, gave a presentation on Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

Mahtab Qadr, vice president of TUF, in his welcome address, said: “Service to humanity is part of our faith; we should engage ourselves in social welfare activities and try to serve not only our own community but also those around us.”

Balubaid said children should be encouraged to involve in social service and talent enhancement alongside education.

Siadath Ali Khan, TUF Saudi Arabia president, highlighted the projects of TUF-Saudi Arabia in Telangana.

TUF executives present included Mahtab Qadr, Obaid Bajaho, Badr Ansari, Mohammed Aliuddin, Liyaqath Ali Khan, Mazharuddin Khan, Asimuddin Ansari, Mahmood Balsharaf, Ahmed Yezdani, Mohammed Shafiullah, Mohammed Junaid, Syed Afzal, Syed Minhajuddin, Syed Manazir Ali and Qudrath Ali Khan.
