EP governor honors Khaled Al-Malik

Eastern Province Gov. Prince Saud bin Naif honored Al-Jazirah Editor in Chief Khaled Al-Malik for winning the 2015 Mediterranean Award for Journalism and Creativity.

The award was presented by the Global Mediterranean Foundation whose jury members, belonging to 43 countries, were unanimous in their choice of the Saudi journalist.

Prince Saud appreciated the editor in chief for his outstanding achievements in his media career spanning 50 years.

In his weekly meeting with princes, scholars, officials, media men, PR executives in government departments and citizens, Prince Saud called on media men to observe accuracy and credibility in disseminating news. “Media have a key role in addressing and guiding communities,” he said.

Al-Malik expressed thanks for the honor accorded to him by the governor and appreciated Prince Saud’s keenness in communicating with all sections of society, including intellectuals and journalists.

Abdul Wahab Al-Faiz, Al-Yaum editor in chief, and Khaled Bo-Ali, editor in chief of Al-Sharq newspaper, addressed the event and expressed their congratulations to Al-Malik for winning the coveted award.
