EduEx 2015 provides unique platform for budding talents

Awad Al-Maliki, deputy director, Foreign and Private Education in the Eastern Province, inaugurates the EduEx 2015 at IISD recently.


The International Indian School-Dammam (IISD) recently organized EduEx 2015, an educational exhibition. The day is also observed as Children’s Day in India.

Every year, IISD organizes this type of exhibition section-wise. This year, it was organized by Boys Secondary Section (BSS) and Boys Senior Secondary Section (BSSS) with “Unfurling the Hidden World” as its theme. Since the participants were from Grades 9-12, the presentations of projects attracted the attention of visitors.

Initially, there was a logo competition for the students. Ayman Nazeer of XII-A won the competition and his logo was selected for the exhibition.

More than 1,000 students presented 300 projects with their knowledge of physics, chemistry, biology, math, social science, computer science, marketing, business studies, economics and accountancy.

The inauguration ceremony of EduEx 2015 started with the recitation of verses from Qur’an. The exhibition was inaugurated by Awad Al-Maliki, deputy director, Foreign and Private Education, Eastern Province. He was the chief guest.

Hussain Al-Maqboul, senior supervisor, Foreign & Private Education, Eastern Province, was the guest of honor.

Abdussalam Kanniyan, chairman of school managing committee, and its members, Irfan Iqbal Khan, Mohammad Abdul Waris, J. Francis Borgio, Rasheed Umar C.K., Syed Zainul Abidin and M.A. Hasnain, were present.

IISD Principal E. K. Mohammed Shaffe welcomed the guests and briefed them about the objectives of the exhibition. Kanniyan delivered his felicitation address and encouraged the students to come forward with innovative ideas.

Mohammed Irfan Waheed, coordinator EduEx 2015, presented the vote of thanks.

The projects were judged by experts and professionals from various schools and colleges. All participants were presented with certificates and the winners awarded trophies and awards.

The entire show was presented under the supervision of the core committee headed by Mohammed Irfan Waheed, HM-BSSS, and core committee members, John Joseph, HM–BSS, Lawrence Verghese, Prabhakar Chandola, Shaheen Sultan, Mallika Gopakumar, Jayashree Kumar, and members of the teaching faculty from BSS and BSSS.
