A special criminal court is prosecuting the first Saudi woman accused of joining Daesh after she pledged allegiance to its leader Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi.

The defendant is also accused of printing and pasting leaflets on mosque walls and lampposts that incite sedition in the Unaizah governorate.

The 27-year-old defendant, who is studying for her master’s degree, attended her first court session which was set for the prosecutor to list the accusations against her.

The prosecutor also accused her of smuggling 30 papers during her family’s visit to her uncle in jail, as he was detained for security reasons. She also prepared statements from the papers she took from her uncle and sent them to the owner of one of the anti-Kingdom Twitter accounts, with whom she is accused of having a close relationship with, and following what he orders.

The indictment list includes the support of the Daesh terrorist group and pledging allegiance to its leader on Twitter. She is also accused of contacting a number of terrorists belonging to Daesh and Al-Nusra terrorist groups.

She has posted tweets supporting the terrorist attack on the General Investigation Department in Sharurah province that killed four security men during Ramadan of 1435 Hijri. She has also taken part in inciting people against Saudi security forces on Twitter, revealing her strong hatred and her wish for revenge on them.

Investigations revealed that she is influenced by her uncle who is serving a nine-year-jail time after he was sentenced by the specialized criminal court. He was accused of being involved in terror crimes including joining an Al-Qaeda affiliated terrorist group, inciting armed disobedience against the ruler, wasting the state’s resources, calling for the murder of innocent people, and bombing residential buildings and governmental institutions as well as killing security men.
