Taif residents decry water shortages

Taif Water problem

Several neighborhoods in Taif have been suffering from water shortages recently, according to residents.

They said that they have had to queue for many hours outside water distribution points in the city for tankers. Many live in old neighborhoods where underground tanks cannot hold water needed for the community, they were quoted as saying by a local publication.

Some said that they did not have water flowing into their homes for 10 days and were forced to seek supplies elsewhere. The main areas affected include the neighborhoods of Shahar, Al-Suhaili, southern and northern Shuhadaa, Rayan and Nukhab.

The National Water Company has previously said it would solve the problem, but this has not happened, the residents said.
