The Yemeni Embassy in Riyadh and its consulates have received large numbers of illegal Yemenis who are taking advantage of the new directive to correct their status.

The Yemeni expatriate must come to the Passport Department in the region where he resides after filling out a special form, as well as the host, who will be registered to host the beneficiary. The host can be a citizen, a resident or a legitimate agent and must attend personally or send his deputy to complete the form.

The beneficiary also must pass the mandatory medical examination.

The Ministries of Interior and Labor confirmed that the beneficiary would be granted a renewable visitor’s visa for a period of six months, after obtaining travel documents from the legitimate government of their country.

Meanwhile, Tayseer Al-Mofrej, spokesman of the Ministry of Labor, said Yemeni residents, who as of Sunday will be eligible to receive a six-month visa permit with the possibility of renewal, can apply for employment via the “Ajeer” system for companies and individuals via the linkwww.ajeer.com.sa

He said employment of Yemeni residents would be in accordance with the needs of employers, noting that these jobs would be counted under the Nitaqat system and affect the nationalization quotas of these firms.

Violators will be exempted from fines, penalties and deportation fingerprint. The two ministries allocated the two numbers (992) and (19911), and the e-mail ([email protected]) and ([email protected]) for inquiries. They said these regulations went into effect May 10 and will end July 7.

Meanwhile, all Yemenis, granted visitor permits, are allowed to work in all sectors and professions, with the exception of engineering, health, and education — sectors subject to special approval.
