Prince Khaled Al-Faisal arrived in Jeddah on Wednesday from Riyadh to take charge as the new governor of Makkah region. He was greeted on arrival at King Abdulaziz International Airport by a large number of princes and government officials.

People in the region have expressed their happiness over the return of Prince Khaled Al-Faisal as governor after a break of one year during which he served as the country’s education minister.

Jeddah Gov. Prince Mishaal bin Majed highlighted the achievements made by Prince Khaled when he was the governor, including the reconstruction of underdeveloped residential districts in Makkah and Jeddah.

Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais, head of the Presidency of the Two Holy Mosques, welcomed Prince Khaled’s return, adding that it would enable him to continue his mission to make Makkah a first world city.

Sulaiman Al-Zayedi, a former member of the Shoura Council, said Prince Khaled’s return would drive the engine of growth in the region.
