A Saudi man in Jeddah opened fire on his wife and her brother on Thursday following a family dispute, killing the brother-in-law and injuring wife, according to Col. Aati Al-Qurashi, spokesman for Makkah police.

“We have received information about a shooting incident that took place in Abraq Al-Raghama, southeast of Jeddah this morning. We have sent criminal investigators to the site to collect evidence,” he said.

He said that the man’s brother-in-law died of bullet wounds while his wife, 23, who had also sustained bullet wounds, is in stable condition in hospital. He added that the suspect, 35, surrendered to police without resistance.

According to an informed source, the shooting took place while the woman and her brother were standing near a secondary school for girls in east Jeddah.
