Authorities in Riyadh have set up an art education bus with the aim to boost awareness about history of art, trying to link it with the curriculum.

The art bus was set up with the participation of more than twenty art education supervisors and delegations from the Department of Education in the city.

Huda Al-Ruwais, head of the arts department, said the art bus tour aims to use the historical sites in Riyadh for academic gains according to curriculum requirements.

She said the tour was targeted at art education supervisors as an added boost to their creative sense.

The first stop of the art bus was the historic Masmak Fort, where the museum administration presented the tour members with a detailed explanation of the fort’s history and its architecture.

The visitors were also shown a documentary on the history of the city.

The tour members also visited the Art and Skills Institute, where they met Princess Adwa bint Yazid bin Abdullah, director of the center.

The tour ended with the presentation on arts and its relationship to fashion, architecture and its impact on the curriculum, which was conducted by Olga Zaluska, head of the department of fashion design at the center.
