Crown Prince Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, who was here to lead the Saudi delegation to the G-20 summit, had a busy day on Sunday meeting a number of prominent world leaders, including French President Francois Hollande, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and South Korean President Park Geun-hye.

During talks with Hollande, Prince Salman emphasized the desire of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah to strengthen Saudi-French ties in various fields. “Prince Salman and President Hollande also discussed major regional and international developments,” said Saudi Press Agency.

Prince Salman congratulated Modi on being elected the prime minister of India while stressing the deep-rooted bilateral relations. Modi commended Saudi Arabia’s important international position and role. Prince Salman and Modi discussed ways of boosting Saudi-Indian ties.

The crown prince also held separate talks with British Prime Minister David Cameron, Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and IMF President Christine Lagarde.
