The King Abdulaziz Center for National Dialogue (KACND) will focus on extremism in the country at its upcoming forum and dialogue with prominent Saudi scholars and intellectuals.

KACND Secretary-General Faisal Muammar made this announcement recently while inviting elite educators, professionals and scholars to take part in the upcoming forum, which aims to formulate a national vision to address the problem of extremism.

According to him, this year’s KACND has whipped up an integrated program that includes a full year of national meetings and workshops Kingdom-wide.

In his invitation, the official said intellectuals and educators who are interested in sharing their opinions and suggestions are welcome to communicate with him to build a shared national vision.

“This comes in response to the call of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah to join forces in combating this phenomenon,” Muammar noted.

“In his various addresses to both his people and Muslims around the world, King Abdullah emphasized moderation, rejection of extremist ideology and the promotion of moderate Islam.” He stressed that the center has drafted a program to hold several meetings for intellectuals in various regions in the Kingdom to mobilize cultural and social issues as part of its debate on this important topic.

According to him, the KACND seeks the participation of religious scholars, intellectuals and educated individuals who represent all aspects of life in every region across the country that would help in achieving its objectives for spreading a culture of dialogue and moderation.
