ABU DHABI: Indian playback singer Sunidhi Chauhan will perform a two-hour show in Abu Dhabi on Friday, marking the Independence Day of India.

“She is a very good singer and is very famous in India. I think it’s worth paying 300 dirhams for two tickets, for myself and my wife, to see her perform live at a concert,” a UAE-based Indian said.

Sunidhi, best known for her film songs in Bollywood, will perform live at a concert in Abu Dhabi’s Emirates Palace.

“Her songs bring back so many memories and I’m happy I’ll get to listen to her live,” said another expat in Abu Dhabi.

For her first concert in Abu Dhabi, Sunidhi will perform a mix of Hindi, Punjabi and English songs.

Commenting on her show, Sunidhi said: “Gulf states have a huge variety of taste, listening to a little bit of everything. I think it’s absolutely wonderful,” adding that she is looking forward to sampling some of the UAE’s shopping, food and music.
