MERS precautionary measures activated at Saudi children’s hospital

The Children and Maternity Hospital in Makkah has activated a program for the prevention and combating the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome, MERS coronavirus, which will last for five days.

The head of infection control at the hospital, Dr. Amerah Al-Shareef, said the activation of the program is in response to the minister of health’s instructions.

She added that the program will be activated under the supervision of the Makkah Health Directorate, and aims to upgrade the level of infection controls in all sections of the hospital. The head of the hospital, Dr. Anas Sadayo, said international specialized experts will participate in the scheduled training of hospital staff and a number of workshops will be held in the next few days for this purpose.
