Firefighters battle the blaze at Chemanol company in Jubail Industrial City.

Six people were injured in a fire that broke out Friday evening at a chemical factory in Jubail Industrial City.

Three of the injured are being treated at the Almana General Hospital in the area.

Jubail’s Civil Defense teams and authorities at Jubail Industrial City were able to bring the fire, which originated at the methanol chemicals company, Chemanol at 12:25 a.m., under control.

“The fire was put out by the company’s firefighting team prior to the arrival of Civil Defense teams,” said Col. Ali Al-Qahtani, Eastern Province Civil Defense spokesman.
