CASABLANCA, Morocco: Three buildings in a residential Casablanca neighborhood have collapsed, killing at least four people, the official Moroccan news agency said.

About 55 people were injured when the buildings came down before dawn Friday in an area not far from the Hassan II Mosque, which overlooks the Atlantic Ocean.

The news agency MAP said the number of dead and wounded could rise, and rescue workers were still searching for victims several hours after tragedy.

King Mohammed VI visited the site where bodies were pulled from piles of debris, then went to see some of the injured at the Moulay Youssef Hospital.

It was not immediately clear what caused the buildings in the Bourgogne neighborhood to collapse.
