Two girls, aged seven and 11, were rescued from drowning in Alkhobar’s Half Moon Bay area.

“The Coast Guard were informed that five people including the two girls were in danger of drowning,” said Brig. Gen. Khaled Al-Arqoubi, official spokesman of the Coast Guard in the Eastern Province.

“The girls received first-aid treatment on the spot, after which they were transferred to King Fahd Medical Complex.”

The area sees an influx of visitors from all across the Kingdom during the summer holiday season.
Around 70 percent of visitors to the Eastern Province frequent Half Moon Bay, according to data made available to Arab News.
