A Tourism Authority delegation including Yusuf bin Hamza Al-Muzeini, the branch manager of General Authority of Tourism and Antiquities, visited the Crafts and Handicrafts Forum in Madinah.

Al-Mozeini and the accompanying team met with many artisans drawn from different regions of the Kingdom and who are participating in the Forum. They saw their handcrafts and got feedback about their participation.

Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Mehous, a consultant for the organizing body, earlier briefed the team about the Forum’s program and activities during its visit to the popular hospitality tent.

Al-Muzeini also visited the corner for craftswomen and productive families, where he viewed their products which ranged from handicrafts, sewing products and glass paintings to famous traditional foods from different regions of the Kingdom.

A number of women expressed their appreciation for being able to display their crafts and products at the forum, noting their ongoing encouragement and motivation to continue participating in such heritage festivals and gatherings.

The delegation visited the Media Center of the Forum, where they watched parts of a theater performance presented by a group of children.

Al-Muzeini said the forum represents only some of the activities of the National Program for Handicrafts, and is one of the most important programs put forward by the General Authority for Tourism and Antiquities for development of the crafts sector in the Kingdom.

He said the program includes various activities and events, including a corner for the productive families, training courses customized for women, and a number of programs and activities for children, all of which are offered on a daily basis in the open reception hall.

Al-Mozeini expressed gratitude and appreciation to the parties involved and the members of the different committees. The forum, which will run for nine days, aims to develop and revitalize the crafts sector as a long standing component of national heritage, as well as provide support and encouragement to productive families.

The events at the forum include elements of knowledge-sharing, entertainment, and showcasing talent for the people of the area and the valued visitors.
