A delegation from Pakistan’s Ministry of Defense visited the National Museum at the King Abdul Aziz historical center recently to view the Kingdom’s rich cultural heritage.

The delegation, headed by Maj. Gen. Mohammad Farookh, was received by the museum authorities who gave them a tour of the distinguished cultural landmark and familiarized them with the rich history of Saudi Arabia.

According to museum officials, the delegates toured the diverse sections of the museum including eight display halls entitled: Man and Universe, Ancient Arab Kingdoms, Pre-Islam, Prophetic Mission, Islam and the Arabian Peninsula, First and Second Saudi States, Kingdom Unification and the Haj and the Two Holy Mosques.

The delegation was introduced to the valuable exhibits which clearly highlight the cultural heritage and the deep-rooted history of the Kingdom.

The members of the visiting delegation also listened to detailed explanations on the exhibits of the halls which highlight the successive civilizations of the Arabian Peninsula as well as the cultural heritage of the Kingdom, an official said.

The delegates expressed their admiration of the museum’s exhibits and praised the wonderful way in which these exhibits are showcased which brings out the history of the Kingdom through the ages.

At the end of the tour, Farookh signed the golden guestbook in which he expressed his pleasure at visiting the National Museum, which he described as a “distinguished cultural landmark.”

He was also presented with a commemorative from the National Museum, representing a sculptured model in stone illustrating the Haj routes in the historical Abbasid era, an official.
