Sources: Qatar bought anti-riot and crowd dispersion weapons

Sources revealed that Qatar had purchased large quantities of anti-riot weapons used for dispersing protests and demonstrations.

The sources described the contract between Qatar and the Brazilian company as huge, and did not rule out other dealings with other companies for similar weapons.

The sources added that this step comes at a time when Doha is stepping up efforts to face any internal struggle, especially with the crisis that is plaguing them following Saudi Arabia and other Gulf and Arab countries cutting ties with them.

This comes amid news of anger within Qatar’s streets from the crisis that resulted from Doha’s policies and its interference in Arab countries’ affairs.

In a related context, Doha used troops from outside the GCC to ensure the stability of the situation.
