The Ministry of Justice plans to construct 72 judicial buildings across the Kingdom worth over SR2 billion as part of its upgrading efforts to make them world-class facilities.

The new buildings, according to Minister of Justice Walid Al-Samaani, underwent a comprehensive study, based on criteria of feasibility in which the economic aspects and the need for efficiency were considered in the design and in line with the needs of the judiciary of these regions of the Kingdom.

Outlining the project, a report issued by the General Administration at the Ministry said that 72 buildings, including buildings for courts and judicial clerks, are to be constructed under four contracts. The projects costing SR2.75 billion are now being implemented in the Western, Eastern and Central and Northern regions.

As many as 15 of these buildings would be constructed in the Eastern Province and 19 in Madinah, which is currently under implementation based on specific sites by the ministry.

The report added: ” Some 28 of these buildings are to be constructed in the Riyadh region in addition to the four structures in Jeddah, three in Hail and two in Qassim.”

The ministry has worked to identify all the sites in accordance with the need to serve the community in these areas.

The ministry also said that it has embarked on the design and preparation of two more courts in accordance with the number of judicial districts for each model, and according to the current and future needs of the region.
