The U.S. technology giant Apple is set to open its first two dedicated UAE stores on Oct. 29, it was announced on Thursday.

The long-awaited Apple Stores will be located at the Mall of the Emirates in Dubai and Yas Mall in Abu Dhabi.

Apple has unveiled barricades around the new stores featuring the word ‘marhaba’, or ‘hello’, in Arabic script. The artworks are by calligrapher Samir Sayegh.

The stores will be open from 10am to 10pm Monday to Wednesday, and until midnight from Thursday to Saturday, according to the Apple website.

They will both feature the so-called ‘Genius Bar’ and workshops on topics such as ‘Mac Basics’ and ‘Discover Apple Music’.

Apple has a strong market share in the UAE. The country’s telecoms regulator said on Oct. 1 that the iPhone 6 and iPhone 5s were the two most commonly used smartphones in the second quarter of the year. The iPhone 6 accounted for 4.9% of all smartphone handsets registered on UAE networks, followed by the iPhone 5s with a 3.5% market share, according to the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA).

Samsung however ranks as the most popular overall mobile brand in the UAE, having recently overtaken Nokia, the TRA said.
