The first group of Indonesian Haj pilgrims is received by Indonesian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia A.M. Fachir and Arsad Hidayat Jurjanih, deputy Haj consul at the consulate, at King Abdulaziz International Airport on Monday afternoon.

The first official Haj flight from Indonesia, carrying 455 pilgrims, arrived at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah Monday afternoon.

Indonesian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia A.M. Fachir welcomed the pilgrims who arrived on board flight GA-1101, which came from Ujung Pandang.

Another group of 455 Indonesian pilgrims landed in Madinah’s Prince Muhammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport on Monday.

They were received by Indonesian Consul General Dharmakirty Syailendra Putra along with Arsad Hidayat Jurjanih, deputy head of the Indonesian Haj delegation.

Some 168,800 Indonesian pilgrims will fly to Saudi Arabia to perform Haj.

Of those, 155,200 have registered for the state-run program.

They will arrive in the Kingdom on board 371 flights until Sept. 28.

The remaining 13,600 opted for premium services organized by private operators. This year the Indonesian mission’s Haj Affairs Office has mobilized 595 seasonal helpers who will work in Jeddah, Makkah and Madinah. They are selected from Indonesian residents, university students and healthcare professionals.

This team will handle pilgrims’ reception and departure, housing, transportation, catering, the groupings and movement, guidance, consular affairs, security and healthcare services.
