Aramco brings smile on the face of prisoners’ families, children

Hundreds of families including children of prisoners enjoyed a cultural event especially held for them at the Shallal amusement park recently.

Saudi Aramco organized the event as part of its social responsibility program in cooperation with the Committee of the Prisoners and their Families Welfare.

The event was attended by Khaled Kurdi, deputy director of Saudi Aramco Affairs in the Western Region, Brig. Ahmed bin Abdullah Al-Shahrani, director of the department of prisons of Jeddah, Marzouk Al-Alehyani, deputy director of Public Affairs for Aramco Jeddah, Badar Al-Sahaki, director of charities and social affairs in Makkah, Mohammed Junaid, executive director of the Compassion Committee Jeddah, Col. Mohammed Al-Qahtani Moaidh, director of public affairs in the prisons of Jeddah and Mailk Baissy, caretaker of Harat Sham district.

More than 200 families including hundreds of children and others thoroughly enjoyed the program that included Hijazi folklore dance, food and amusement. Hijazi historical atmosphere was created by the participants and expert folklore dancers.

Khaled Kurdi said the initiative was taken with the aim to bring smile on the faces of children as also to admire their educational excellence.

“Saudi Aramco is sparing no effort in harnessing all its resources and expertise to serve the community, it’s an honor for Saudi Aramco as a number of important agencies and people came forward to support the programs of knowledge in the community in order to build a scientific environment and spread the message of care for the gifted and talented children of the nation,” he said.

He thanked all the participants, the government agencies and the Committee of Compassion for their “constructive cooperation” and volunteers’ participation to make the event success.

Al-Sahaki said he was delighted to participate in the event with children and families and share the knowledge and scientific information.

He said volunteering and social responsibility brought about through effective partnership are the aims of the Ministry of Social Affairs and also part of Aramco initiatives for the society.

Brig. Al-Shahrani said the Aramco initiatives to encourage and motivate children toward knowledge and educational information through entrainment are unique. He thanked Aramco for its efforts.

Gifts were also distributed among brilliant students for their best educational performance.
