Prince Faisal opens global environment conference today
Madinah Gov. Prince Faisal bin Salman will open the 5th International Enviro Cities Conference 2015 on Tuesday.
The conference is being organized by the Madinah Municipality, King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy (KACARE), Dubai Municipality, Taibah University and Environmental Center for Arab Towns (ECAT) and Arab Towns Organization (ATO).
According to the public relations committee of the conference, 18 experts and specialists in the field of environment from Gulf, Arab and European countries will participate in the three-day event. They will discuss developments in the field of converting waste to energy and methods of ensuring sustainable development for Arab cities.
The conference will highlight scientific experiments and the best international practices which will enrich the specialized knowledge in the service of society.
The participants include European Suppliers of Waste to Energy Technology Secretary-General Patrick Clerens, Institute for Applied Material Flow Management Managing Director Peter Heck and KACARE chief strategist Ibrahim Babelli.
The conference aims to provide an opportunity for city officials to meet and share their experiences and engage in open dialogue to discuss ideas and solutions to waste conversion for sustainable development for cities in the future, the media committee said.
It will also provide a platform for a wide range of specialists and experts in the Gulf and other countries, including ministers and representatives of governments and private sector businessmen in addition to institutions and civil establishments to enhance communication in the fields of environment and energy production.
