Saudi King praised By King Hamad for causeway

MANAMA: His Majesty King Hamad yesterday paid tribute to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for naming the new causeway (King Hamad Causeway) which will link Bahrain to Saudi Arabia after him.

He described the new causeway as a milestone in deep-rooted ties between both countries which reflects King Abdullah’s keenness to further cement relations between both countries.

This came as the King was briefed at Sakhir Palace on the new causeway by Transportation Minister Kamal Ahmed, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, senior officials and the Saudi Ambassador to Bahrain.

The King underlined the importance of the causeway in invigorating trade and investment.

He expressed hope the project will add momentum to fast development in both kingdoms, pointing out the role of the new causeway in linking the GCC countries to a modern transportation network.

His Majesty said that Bahraini-Saudi relations are based on a solid ground out of belief in common goal, destiny, brotherhood and unity.The King gave his directives and remarks about the vital project, thanking the Transportation Minister and the officials in charge and wishing them every success.
