Jeddah Traffic and Security department has doubled its security patrols to control the traffic on the first day of Eid in different parts of the city particularly at the Corniche and the historical district of downtown Balad where large crowds are expected to gather to enjoy the festivities and entertainment activities organized by the municipality for the benefit of the public.

The Eid traffic plan was strategically laid out with the aim to ease traffic and for crowd management during the Eid holidays.

Brig. Saeed bin Salem Al-Qarni, director of security patrols in Jeddah said: “Security has been intensified at locations in anticipation of disturbances which could be created by youths on bikes and other activities.”

He added that the traffic security has been distributed all over Jeddah in order to maintain the safety of the visitors to the Corniche and other places.”

He also said that the security patrols and its members aim to impose law and order at all locations, neighborhoods, housing areas, commercial complexes and locations to prevent any untoward incidents during the Eid Al-Fitr celebrations.
