Pilgrims happy with Makkah arrangements

The coming of Ramadan heralded elaborate arrangements made by the Makkah Police, Municipality and the Presidency of the Holy Mosques Affairs in Makkah. Their preparations have borne fruit receiving plaudits from the local pilgrims where millions of people were delighted to perform Umrah peacefully.

Pilgrims from different parts of the Kingdom expressed satisfaction with the arrangements and admired the peaceful and orderly management of crowds by the authorities.

Mohammed Mansour, resident of Riyadh performed Umrah on the first day of Ramadan. “I was happy to see the well-organized arrangements. Usually the first day of Ramadan is chaotic but with different groups tasked with inspection, detection and monitoring of problems, the journey to Makkah was blissful,” he said.

Similarly, Abdul Samad, resident of Jeddah visited Makkah on the first day with his family and they too feel that this year it is better organized and less stressful.

“The arrangements were fantastic; everything went smoothly and I congratulate the Kingdom’s efforts to make the pilgrimage safe and easy. Everything was exceptional- from the arrangements of iftar to performing the rituals,” he said.

Another resident of Jeddah, Mohammed Yaseen, said: “Saudi scouts played an impressive role by extending various services to pilgrims and other visitors of the mosque. We were able to perform the rituals with much ease. Moreover, it is worth mentioning that the
food supplies this year are in abundance.”

He said the Makkah expansion project is to be equally appreciated for facilitating the journey of faith for millions of pilgrims.

Many pilgrims praised the quality of services provided to them and hoped that they would continue to avail them for the rest of the holy month of Ramadan.
