Saudi Arabia on Wednesday urged the international community to shoulder its responsibility toward halting the dangerous Israeli military escalation against the Palestinian people.

“Israeli forces have been committing horrendous crimes against the Palestinian civilians under the pretext of the disappearance of three Israelis,” Deputy Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Prince Salman said.

In a statement following talks with Palestine President Mahmoud Abbas in Jeddah, Prince Salman reiterated Saudi Arabia’s unwavering support for the Palestinians to protect their legitimate rights.

Prince Salman and Abbas discussed the situation in the occupied Arab territories, atrocities being committed by the Israeli military forces against Palestinians, expansion of Jewish settlements in the occupied territories, Judaization of Jerusalem and division of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

President Abbas thanked Saudi Arabia for its continuous support. Deputy Foreign Minister Prince Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah attended the talks.
